This five day course is designed for those with some summer hillwalking experience who want to travel in the mountains confidently at a time of year when the length of day may make visibility uncertain. The winter time brings great opportunities for developing navigation and safety skills in the mountains. This course also includes an introduction to ice axe and crampon techniques.

Previous Experience - summer hillwalking.

Your base for the week is Birch Brae Lodge. Near Fort William.
We understand that some of our clients have traveled a long distance and have included a nights accommodation at each end of your course. You may arrive the evening before your course starts from 4pm and you will depart after breakfast the day after your course finishes. This allows you to have five full days on the hill.
