Emergency procedures for families and groups
Who is this for?
This 7 hour programme is aimed at families and groups of friends who meet up to walk, trek, or undertake adventurous activities and have no requirement to hold a valid First Aid Certificate unlike NGB Award holders.
You may visit the quieter parts of the UK and Ireland and wish to expand your knowledge so if a person in your group or party becomes unwell or injured whilst on an outdoor journey/venture or even in the home/urban environment you will have the skills to help and assist them.
Participants must be a minimum of 12 years of age.
Aims of the course
To introduce the group/party to a variety of skills and knowledge enabling them act accordingly so that by the end of the course participants will be able to:
- assess a casualties condition
- deal with an unconscious casualty
- control bleeding and shock
- summon expert help
- use equipment effectively such as first aid kits and group shelters.
This is a hands on programme from the outset for all participants.
At the end of the days training students will receive a first aid booklet and certificate of attendance,that is valid for 3 years. Assessment is continuous by the course Tutor.

Each additional person will be charged at £40 per head.
Beverages and lunch is included in the price along with a group first aid kit to the person making the booking.
