Emergency First Aid - Level 2

Course description

This 16 hour programme is ideal for all climbers, walkers, mountain bikers and all other persons operating in remote areas of the UK & Ireland. This course also meets or in some cases exceeds, MLTE requirements and is suitable for ML, SPA, and the new Climbing Wall Award. This 2 day course meets many more outdoor activity NGB awards requirements.

Your training will take place in both open and broken ground as well as theory lessons in the classroom and assessment of participant’s skills takes place throughout the duration of the course.

Aims of the course

At the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • assess and prioritise a first aid incident in both Remote & Urban Areas
  • deal with an unconscious casualty
  • control bleeding and manage shock
  • immobilise fractures
  • recognise and deal with a wide range of common injuries
  • maintain records
  • use and maintain first aid kits
  • raise external expert assistance
  • casualty handover to professional services
  • offer on-site assistance to expert services

On completion of this training course, successful candidates will be will be awarded a certificate in:

EMERGENCY FIRST AID Level 2

This training is valid for 3 years from date of issue & it is recommended that further refresher training takes place regularly during this period.
