Mountain skills level 3

Who is this course for?
When we are expanding our experience, we are often unsure of our ability, our knowledge and our navigation techniques.  What if something happens?  What if things start to go wrong? What about access arrangements? What water source is safe? This course, which follows on from our Mountain Skills  Levels 1 and 2 programme's, provides you with the final components, skills and techniques that you need to possess to safely journey and live in the UK mountains for a number of days, whilst learning about your limitations.

This course is for those with previous experience of planning and undertaking hillwalking journeys in the hills and mountains of the UK and Ireland or those embarking on to a MLTE leadership course.  You may have a reasonable level of navigation ability, but may be unsure of the finer points. This course will expand on areas such as equipment provision and nutritional needs for extended periods and provide pointers for further development in the future. You may have previously completed our Mountain Skills Level 2 or similar.
This course, along with Mountain Skills Level 2, forms a logical progression, covering all the skills required to develop independence as a walker, navigator and trekker in the hills and mountains of the UK & Ireland. You will be centred around the village of Dolwyddelan in north Wales.
